Ep.49: Robby Barbaro (@MindfulDiabeticRobby) is Mastering Diabetes

Do you know someone who has Diabetes?

Do you have Diabetes?

Are you curious about what causes Diabetes and how you can reverse and prevent it?

Well, all of those questions are answered here in this incredible conversation with my friend Robby Barbaro.

My guest today is Robby Barbaro aka @mindfuldiabeticrobby on IG.

Robby is such an inspiring person to be around. His energy is so contagious and he always seems to be having the best time. Personally, I love being around people like that, and it’s why we had such a great time recording this pod together.

A little bit of information on Robby:

Robby is on the cutting-edge of Diabetes research and has dedicated his entire life to teaching people how to prevent and reverse the disease.

Robby and his business partner Dr. Cyrus Khambatta founded Mastering Diabetes.org, an incredible resource and coaching platform for people to use who want to reverse, manage, and prevent Diabetes.

Robby is hell-bent on being the first person to reverse his own Type I Diabetes using a whole food plant-based diet, and after this discussion I sincerely believe he will do just that.

This conversation is jam-packed full of research-based information that can help anyone who is curious about how to live a healthier, happier, more abundant life, with or without Diabetes.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did recording it for you.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Peace Love Light,

Jess

Ep.47: Jonny Juicer- Using Raw Living Food to Heal & Thrive

Today’s guest is Jonny Juicer. Jonny is a raw vegan, plant-based advocate who has dedicated his life to teaching people how to heal and thrive using living foods. He is an influencer online, where he has garnered hundreds of thousands of followers due to his uplifting message, informative/creative content, and his trusty sidekick Noah (the cutest dog I’ve ever seen!).

Jonny is actually one of the first “healthy lifestyle” accounts I started following way back in 2013 when I first started my own personal journey. I really look up to Jonny and consider him a mentor of mine. His content and vibration has helped to educate and inspire me to live a primarily raw vegan lifestyle where I have been able to heal my self of constipation, skin issues, and crazy mood fluctuations. So the fact that I got to meet him and have this kind of conversation with him was a real honor.

This episode is jam-packed full of gems. We discuss his personal journey and how he was able to use a plant-based diet and lifestyle to heal his Irritable Bowel Syndrome and chronically debilitating migraines. We discuss his journey from leaving his 9-5 job to pursuing the entrepreneurial path. He shares about how he’s been able to use social media as a platform to reach and help people. We discuss how he was able to create a social media empire with hundreds of thousands of followers. We even got to talk about hoops! A topic we both love and could rap on and on about for hours.

I can tell Jonny & I are going to become good friends and likely teammates as basketball leagues are definitely in the near future!

This episode was everything I had hoped it’d be, plus some! And I hope it helps you in some way, shape, or form.

Feel free to share this episode out with your family and friends and tag me @jessguidroz and Jonny @jonny_juicer.

Lastly, please feel free to leave us a positive review on iTunes! It helps us reach people in a massive way. Thanks!

Ep.46: Samantha Davis- Birth as an Inside Job, Doula Life, & the Enlighten Hive Tribe

Tag team back again! Had such a blast hanging with my sister from another mister, Samantha Davis, on part III of our 3-part natural birthing series here on the podcast!

If you missed our first chat together head all the way back to Episode 2 to learn more about Sam, her personal journey, and adventures with network marketing.

This episode was a blast. We talked all about Doula life and how Sam helps mama’s find their power by doing the internal work first, and trusting that their bodies are powerful beyond measure. She shared how her approach to being a Doula incorporates a spiritual, mental, and emotional approach first, and how the physical always follows shortly afterwards.

In my opinion, helping mama’s birth their babies and everything involved with that is Sam’s calling. She’s wholeheartedly in her element when she’s coaching people through the most extraordinary blessing of the human experience.

Our conversation took a radical turn once we began discussing Tribe, and for the first time Sam publically shared her new exciting venture collaboration with Nicole (my wife) and 3 other mama’s on their new venture, Enlighten Hive–a tribe of women who share a passion to unite and serve other mama’s on their birthing journey. To learn more about Enlighten Hive, peep the episode or head to EnlightenHive.com.

I hope ya’ll enjoy this episode as much as we did recording it!

Ep.45: Tiffany Gallo- Thriving as a Midwife, Entrepreneur, & Mama

Welcome to part II of our 3-part natural birthing series here on the Thrive Academy podcast!

Today’s guest is very dear to my heart as she was our Midwife throughout our entire birthing process with the newest edition to our family.

Tiffany Adler. Tiffany is a Midwife, runs an incredible Birthing Center, Pure Births, and is a full-time mama. The lady can do it all.

This episode was so rad because of all the bases that we covered. We chat all about natural out-of-hospital birth. We discuss the education, certifications, and journey one must go on to become a midwife. We dive deep into what a Midwife does and the kind of care and the safety that Tiffany offers all of her mama’s.

Then the episode takes a pleasant turn when we begin to dive deep into Tiffany’s personal life and the journey that has led her to where she is at today. It’s this part of the conversation that we dive deep into the entrepreneurial journey and her personal manifestation process. We talk about meditation, visualization, and the importance of having a daily mindfulness practice.

I’m so happy with the way this episode came out and I’m so excited to share it with you here today. If you know anyone who is expecting a child in the near future please feel free to share this episode with them. Sometimes planting the seed is all it takes to change a life :)

Ep.44: Nicole Guidroz- Our Water Birth Story, Birth Without Fear, & Empowering Mama’s To Trust In Their Bodies

This episode will go down as the most meaningful, emotional & personal podcast to date. Today I got to sit down and retell our water birth story with my beautiful wife, Nicole.

This conversation is jam-packed full of motherly wisdom and intuitive guidance for anyone looking to give birth or start a family. Even if you’re not in that position I can guarantee this conversation will move you and have a positive impact on you.

We dive into why having a natural birth outside of the hospital is so empowering. We discuss the importance of having a team/tribe around you throughout the entire pregnancy/birthing process. We discuss the common fears about having a baby outside of the hospital and how to overcome them. Nicole sheds light on her own birthing preparation and how she gets ready from an emotional-spiritual standpoint. She discusses the differences between a hospital birth and giving birth at a Birthing Center. She explains how powerful and wise the human body is an how it knows exactly what to do when it comes to creating a child, labor & delivery. She explains why birth should not be an experience that is feared and should be one of empowerment and faith. Lastly, Nicole shares her personal trials & triumphs throughout her journey & how she was able to overcome them and have the most beautiful experience of her life.

I’m so proud and excited to bring this episode to you.

Ep.42- Carly Taylor: The Vegan Movement, Activism, & Pursuing Your Passions

Ladies & gentleman, I’d like to introduce you to the one and only, Carly Taylor!

I have been following Carly’s journey on IG for the past year and have always known that we would someday collab together. I’ve felt a strong energetic connection to Carly, probably because her lifestyle & views mirror a lot of my own personal values. Carly is a huge inspiration to me. She is on the front lines of the vegan/animal rights movement. She travels the world capturing footage and content of the atrocities going on at various slaughterhouses. She is a voice for the voiceless and has dedicated her whole life to helping out our animal brothers and sisters.

Her story is so inspiring. She was an aspiring dentist on the road to acquiring the “American Dream”, and decided to stop her pursuit and go all-in on reppin’ the vegan movement and spreading the message of The New Way! The new way of consumerism, voting with your dollar, Compassion, following your heart, ethical living, and The New Way of saving this incredible planet that we’re so lucky to inhabit.

This episode is jam-packed full of incredible insights, inspiration, and knowledge bombs that have the potential to really have a tremendous impact.

I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as we did recording it! If you did, please feel free to share it out with your friends and family. And head on over to itunes and leave us a positive comment and 5-star review. It helps us reach so many more people!

Thank you so much for your time and energy.

Ep.41: Anjale Perrault- Hack-Schooling, Finding Your Light Through The Darkness

“No Mud, No Lotus” -Thich Nhat Hanh

Guys, today’s guest is an absolute beam of pure LIGHT! She also happens to be my soul-sister and holds a very special place in my heart. Anjale Perrault kicks some serious wisdom on this pod and I am so freaking excited to bring it to you!

We dive deep into some of her biggest challenges and darkest times and how they are what has led her to where she is today. “No Mud, No Lotus” is the quote that pretty much encapsulates her life story. We also move on from her story and begin rapping about homeschooling and how and why she does it. We talk about the Spiritual path and how it has saved her life.

She is a total jack of all trades. She’s a badass mama of two, art school owner, homeschooler (hack-schooler, as she calls it), she leads meditations, cacao ceremonies, sound therapy sessions through her amazing entity, Raise Your Vibe (love the name!!!).

I hope you all enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it! Please feel free to leave a positive comment and 5-star review on iTunes. It helps us reach so many more people.
